About

Brighton & Hove based Architect working with clients to design beautiful homes, extensions, conversions and refurbishments. I enjoy working closely with my clients to produce the right results for them. My approach to projects is to understand the vision and objectives of the client and then work hard to explore options to find a solution that surpasses expectations yet remains practical, achievable and lasting. For me the project is about you the client. I am passionate about good design, my work is modern and I aim to make the best use of what is already there – the site, the climate, the views, the path of the sun to maximise the potential of your scheme achieving the biggest effect for your budget. I am experienced in dealing with tricky projects and design challenges. For the past two years I have been working onsite to deliver a £500k project, taking the scheme through planning to completion as designer, project manager & main contractor. I have years of experience of the planning system, successfully gaining permission on a number of schemes including those within conservation areas, I also have experience on dealing with local contractors – both good & bad. I graduated in architecture at UCL before working for various 'boutique' practices specialising in high end residential projects both in London and Brighton. My experience is in residential, office, listed building planning and building with a specialism in 3d design and visualisation. I hope you enjoy the images of my work, please feel free to contact me to discuss your project.

What to check before you hire

Worth checking yourself
Only a few public reviews are shown. Ask for recent references you can contact.
Their public evidence comes from a single source. Look them up on another site before deciding.

"Architect" is a title protected by law - only people on the official Architects Register (held by ARB) may use it. Confirm they're on it before you commission a design.

Check the Architects Register
Only someone on the Architects Registration Board (ARB) register may legally call themselves an 'architect' in the UK. Ask for their ARB number and check it free at arb.org.uk. An 'architectural designer' or 'technologist' is a different, unregistered role (often capable, but not the same protection).
Agree how they charge before any work starts (a percentage of the build cost, a fixed fee, or an hourly rate) and exactly which stages it covers (concept design, planning application, building-regulations drawings, work on site), so there are no surprises later.
Confirm what they will actually handle versus what is excluded (the planning application, the building-control drawings, and whether they will administer the builder's contract on site), and get it, and a portfolio of similar projects, in writing.
