We are an architecture, interiors and urban design practice interested in the dialogue between old and new in built form and landscape. Our approach is a holistic one involving historical and analytical analysis of the site. Our strength lies in getting to the nub of issues through investigation, dialogue and presentation of clear inclusive concepts. Studio DuB was formed in 2006 out of the office of Duffy & Batt (established 1993) to promote excellence in architecture, urban and interior design. Award-winning work is informed by an approach that is innovative, practical and stimulating. Sustainability is a thread that has run through the work of the office since the outset. Studio DuB create award-winning high-quality architecture across the disciplines of architectural, interior and urban design. Our proven track record demonstrates rigorous project control, considerably added property value and above all a calmness of attitude throughout the process. We offer navigable walk-throughs & movies of design proposals, a sensitive ear and both architecture and design counselling. The practice occupies office space in one of our own projects, The Press, a successful city centre project which brought new life to the former printing press of Edinburgh University. The Press was included in the portfolio for the Architect of the Year submission -the practice making the final six-at the BD Regeneration Awards, 2004 and was commended in the Saltire Awards the same year. Recent accolades include winner of Best Proposed Building for Dingleton Boilerhouse, Melrose, at the Roses Design Awards.
