We hired SWAT to help us transform our house. We did a loft conversion (en suite bedroom) and a complete renovation of the rest of the house. The whole project took around 8 months. From start to finish, it has been an absolute pleasure to work with Scott and his team. Scott was always available for advice and help in supporting us achieve our desired result. He always had a solution for every obstacle we came across. The whole team were very friendly, hard-working and extremely professional. We couldn't be happier with the final result and would definitely recommend Scott and SWAT.
I have used Scott and his team on several occasions now, 1st time 2015 to take off the top of my chimney and replace all the damaged brickwork and cement work . 2nd Time 2017 , the main roof to the house had condensation issues which created leaks through the ceilings, Scott put in ventilation systems to the eve tiles and the ridge tiles, stopping all the problems. This last occasion January 2025 Scott had to renew 2 flat roofs and the pitched roof on the kitchen extension, all new felt, batten, tiles and lead work etc.., all this done to the highest standard. Scott always made sure that the site was kept tidy and safe at all times. Would recommend Scott and his team to anyone tradesmen that can be trusted to do a great job 5*****.
I had an excellent experience with SWAT Design and Build. I kept changing my mind throughout the process, but nothing ever seemed to be too much trouble for them. Their team was incredibly patient, flexible, and always willing to accommodate my needs. The quality of the work exceeded my expectations, and the attention to detail was impressive. They made sure to understand exactly what I wanted, and the final result was absolutely perfect. Communication was always clear, and the project was completed on time. I highly recommend SWAT Design and Build for anyone looking for high-quality, custom design and build services."
Excellent work done, always on time polite,despite poor weather the team worked exceptionally hard to complete the flat roof total repair to a very high standard. Price was as per quote, no surprises. Leaving the site clear of any waste. Very impressed
Scott and his team did a complete refurb of our kitchen and also installed a new skylight into the roof and reconfigured the roof. They were always punctual, kept in touch with us and everything was done professionally. Nothing was ever too much for Scott and his team and they were happy to do extras that popped up here and there. The finish of the kitchen was high quality and we are so happy with the completed job! Scott’s vision for the skylight was brought to life and it’s really brought so much light into the kitchen which is exactly what we wanted! Would definitely recommend Scott and his team and if we have any more projects we will definitely be using them again!

SWAT completed a seven month project for us between January and July this year. Project entailed a 5m x 9m single storey rear extension, two storey side extension, loft conversion (with en suite) and internal reconfiguration. Project was not aided by no side access to our house. Scott and his team were fantastic throughout, incredibly hard working, very responsive, delivering to a high standard and importantly easy and fun to work with. Scott has a great attention to detail and high standard, this included suggesting alternatives to the plans where he thought the outcome or aesthetic would be better. We were complete novices to building works and Scott’s calm manner put us at ease. We will miss Scott and his team and would without question recommend him. Rupert and Nikki, Berkhamsted

Scott and the team did a great job on our utility room build, bedroom extension and internal remodel. The work done was high quality, courteous around our family and on time. The team are very easy to deal with and Scott was very helpful with additional add - on bits as the build progressed.
Scott and the team did a great job on our extension and remodelling. He is a down to earth guy who spent time to understand our requirements. If there was ever an issue he was quick to respond. The team were polite, friendly and courteous. The kids loved having them around. The quality of the work is second to none and was built to the original quote. If you need working doing definitely use SWAT.
I can honestly say it’s been an absolute pleasure working with Scott and the team at SWAT! My 2 bedroom / 1 en-suite loft conversion finished about 8 weeks ago and I’m blown away with the space that’s been created! The build was completed within about 8 weeks and i couldn’t be happier with it! Such a personable team, really down to earth, decent builders! Having experienced a lot of challenges with a different builder working on making downstairs open plan, I was pretty nervous about jumping from the frying pan into the fire with a new builder to do the loft… well what a completely different experience working with Scott! Great quality build; great team; great communication throughout and always at the end of the phone if needed. Thank you guys 🙏🏽👍🏼
We instructed Scott and his team to renovate our entire property over a 12 month timeframe in Berkhamsted. For context, the works included adding 2,000 plus sq meters to the property with a large rear extension, a new roof including two bedrooms and a bathroom along with a full internal update including bathrooms, new stairs, windows along with a new driveway and landscaping to the rear garden. Ultimately.. we may have well knocked the house down and started again. His team are friendly, honest and very good at what they do. They we’re asked to deal with some fairly complex designs and niche requests from our architect and were not only accommodating but also provide more superior options to make the end result better. We have recommended him to three friends over the last 12 months of which all have been more than happy with his work. I have no reservations in recommending him and his team. Great experience and great to work with.
I always worry when trying to find a new trader, but we went with the right company here very honest, knowledgeable and friendly. They found the issue and resolved quickly when I was thinking it was going to be a big problem. I would highly recommend!!
We discovered a leak in our bedroom after some snowfall. Spoke with SWAT late Saturday afternoon and they attended promptly the day after. We’re polite and got straight to work in finding the problem, which happened to be two cracks in our lead work. Fixed this within the hour leaving us relieved of the roof being secure and no further problems / damage to our interior. Would highly recommended the SWAT team for any work needing to be done and they would certainly be my fist point of call
