Mr Welch carried out remedial work to the front of my property, including making safe damaged cement work around a disused coal shute and repainted the front. He built a new brick wall in the front garden. At the rear he renovated and repaired external guttering and pipework and replaced faulty flashing to the glass roof of my conservatory (a very complicated job owing the property's architecture). He cleared ivy which had been climbing up the house and repointed the back exterior wall. He supervised the installation of new glass to the conservatory roof and repaired extensive storm damage to a back garden wall. He also renovated a patio.

Partial re-felting to eliminate roof leak. Re-sealing of air vent extractor pipe to cure water leak. Chimney swept and spinning cowl fitted to improve updraught with open flame gas fire and to prevent downdraught when gas fire not in use. Bird guard fitted to another chimney. As with roof work done for me back in 2007 Mr Welch's recent work was satisfactorily completed on time and in accordance with the price he quoted. I value Mr Welch's advice because he takes time to explain the technicalities and options there may be for the repair work needed.

I would be pleased to recommend Thomas Welch & Sons. They have carried out numerous works for me over many years. The most recent work was to remedy a roof leak to my 1930’s semi and this involved replacing the lead valleys to the gable/pediment, relining and retiling it. The work could only be described as superb in every detail, with fine quality lead work and excellently cut tiles to create straight and true valley definitions. Other work carried out included renovation to the main chimney stack and pots. The chimney brickwork required repointing and reflaunching and the lead flashings and soakers repointed, and again, this work was undertaken to the highest professional standards with the pointing mortar colour and mix carefully matched to the Laing-built original specification. I would describe the company as being Master Builders and Thomas Welch as a Master Craftsman in the various building specialisms.

We have employed Mr Welch and family for five major building and redecorating projects over the last 25 years. The last major project in 2010 involved a 1930 house which had been neglected for 25 years. The work covered everything from repointing the chimneys to replacing drains, interior and exterior decoration, new bathroom and kitchen, new electrical circuit, a new fire place. It took nine months and at the end of it Mr Welch won an award. We have always been happy with the work Mr Welch does, he is very experienced and works to a very high standard. Mr Welch last returned to replace window sills ado some interior decoration about five years ago. Our continued reemployment of him should convince you that we value his work.

A leaking roof fixed, new gutters fitted and the exterior of the house painted front and back. I have used Thomas Welch's company before (to fit a new chimney pot) and have found them to be professional and reliable and am happy to recommend them.

Thomas Welch & sons. when contacted their response was immediate. Thomas came to speak about the problem. the guttering was not allowing the water to run away due to guttering not having any fall, causing water flow problems. We decided on a price & time to carry out the work, he arrived on the time stated. Thomas & sons worked tirelessly to rectify the issue, problem solved. Thomas & sons, I found very helpful & knowledgeable in their work. Also kept to price quoted.

We were recommended to Thomas Welch & Sons by a family member that had used them before. We had cladding removed from the house, fully rendered and painted. We also had the chimney pointed and some minor roof repairs. Tom has excellent knowledge of his trade and kept us updated throughout the job. We were very happy with the quality of the work and it looks great. Would recommend their services!

We had been troubled by squirrels coming down both the ground floor chimneys and the disused first floor ones. Tom made recommendations as to the best way cap or cowl each of them. Since debris had been coming down the chimneys as well, he suggested the ground floor flues be swept at the same time. This was especially as this hadn't been done for more than 35 years to our knowledge. The work carried out in his estimate was completed satisfactorily with the minimum mess and disruption by Tom and his son. In addition, while up on the roof he pointed out that four roof tiles had been dislodged (away from his work area) which he replaced free of charge, using some spare tiles I had. Certificates were provided to specify the work that had been done and the reasons for the type of cowl provided in each chimney. Tom's approach to the work he did for us can be described as perfectionist, taking as much time as was needed to get it right, so I have doubt this would be applied to the other types of building work he advertises to do.
