43 out of 100, with a caution: only 3 reviews held yet. A small public record keeps the evidence thin, and the score reflects that.

Highlights

Would highly recommend Total Preservation 100%. Graeme and lads were very friendly and courteous. Came on time and worked all day. Everything was left clean and tidy. Job was done to a high standard. Went the extra mile for me.

AnonymousCheckatrade5.0 rating

Graham was very reliable and gave very practical advice. I was very happy with the work and would definitely use him again.

AnonymousCheckatrade5.0 rating

The initial quote was for damproofing but further problems were discovered - rotten joists and inefficient air ducting under floor. All steps were carefully explained, photos taken etc..Workmen were extremely efficient, very courteous and in my opinion did 'over and above' , including explaining everything, giving me options etc. I was more than pleased and would HIGHLY recommend.

Roofing isn't licensed, so anyone can set up - and it's a trade with more than its share of cowboys. A big re-roof must meet building regulations; CompetentRoofer (the Government-authorised NFRC scheme) registers roofers who can self-certify that, and vets and inspects them at least twice a year. Check they're on it before you hire.

Check the CompetentRoofer register
Never agree to roof work from a cold-caller at your door or an unsolicited 'we noticed your roof' note. That is the classic roofing scam.
Get a written quote that itemises access (scaffolding or a tower), the exact materials, and the workmanship guarantee, not a vague day rate.
Be wary of demands for a large cash deposit; agree staged payments against work you can actually see completed.
