Highlights

Mitch from Town and Country Garden Services has cut hedges and pruned trees for us on several occasions. He listens to our requirements and does a brilliant job working to a very high standard. He is a likeable guy, conscientious, hard working and takes time to ensure a great result every time at reasonable prices.

We originally planned to replace our patios, but with Mason’s guidance we chose a full garden transformation. This included landscaping the sides, a new rear patio, a large wooden pergola for privacy, garden lighting, new topsoil, and a comprehensive drainage system with a soakaway. Once work began, Mason, Mitch, and the team worked efficiently, kept the site tidy, and remained committed despite poor weather. Mitch’s horticultural knowledge was particularly impressive throughout. Everything was handled smoothly and professionally and we highly recommend Town and Country Garden services.

Mitchell Taylor Wilson (Mitch) has provided me with gardening services over the past twelve years. He tells me I was his second client when he started out. I have found Mitch to be reliable and dependable. He is knowledgeable and has a good sense of garden/landscape design. I have in particular found him easy to work with in the ongoing maintenance and development of my current garden. Importantly in my view Mitch is also a very systematic and tidy worker. In short I have no hesitation in highly recommending Mitch and his Town & Country Garden Services.

What to check before you hire

Worth checking yourself
Only a few public reviews are shown. Ask for recent references you can contact.
Their public evidence comes from a single source. Look them up on another site before deciding.
Get an itemised quote that separates plants and materials, any machinery or skip hire, and labour. A vague 'garden makeover' lump sum hides where the money goes and makes extra charges easy to add later.
Be wary of paying a large sum up front 'for materials'. Agree staged payments against work you can see completed, especially for hard landscaping like patios, decking, paving or driveways.
Tree work and anything near a boundary can be regulated. Protected trees and conservation areas often need permission, and removing a protected tree can be an offence. Confirm what is allowed, and that they carry public-liability insurance, before work starts.
