Roof was still leaking after the roof work and dpc was badly done. I now have uneven walls and not able to fit the skirting back on.
We had a contract for the works agreed and to be completed on a specific day(3-4days). Work took much longer than agreed and also Paul started to changed the terms by asking for more materials which shouldn't have been. No receipts to show what they bought for the job unlike other builders. Also charged £260 on the contract for skip whereas the skip was only £180. I had to call the skip company myself to arrange for the skip to removed only to be told that T&T Builders(Paul) hadn't paid for it to be collected. This was now on the 22nd November. Also failed to finish the work properly.

Check they're a PCA member before you accept a damp-treatment quote.
Check the PCA registerGet an INDEPENDENT damp survey, not a free one from the firm that wants to sell you the treatment. A free survey has every incentive to diagnose expensive 'rising damp', when the problem is often condensation, a leak, or high ground level that needs no chemical injection.
Insist they identify and fix the underlying CAUSE (a leak, blocked airbricks, poor ventilation, failed pointing) before agreeing to an injected damp-proof course, and ask them to explain why simpler fixes won't work.
Get the diagnosis and an itemised quote in writing, and be wary of pressure to sign on the spot for a long 'guarantee' that is only worth anything while that firm is still trading.
