The company’s surveyor called at the scheduled time and promptly diagnosed the black mould problem either side of hall/street doorway as condensation, and not rising damp which had previously been thought. He gave some recommendations as to how to address the problem, some just requiring diy cleaning, and the services of a double glazing company to install trickle vents. He was very polite, smartly dressed (very dapper! ), gave helpful knowledge of the problems causes and his suggested remedies. He would not take any payment for his visit. I highly recommend WS Damp Control for a survey.
Ray arrived promptly. Assessed the damp problem inside the house and the exterior. Using his damp metre showing me the results. He gave sound advice. I would be very happy contacting the company in the future.
We have had long standing problems with our patio doors and we were concerned that the issue may be due to rising damp potentially causing more structural problems with our house. I phoned for an appointment and one was arranged for only a few days later. Ray Punter, Head Surveyor arrived promptly, carefully listened to our concerns and assessed the situation. He was able to reassure that it was not too serious and that relatively simple measures re drainage and protecting the cill should be adequate. He did not charge for his time nor advice- and overall his visit was extremely helpful.
