Fantastic job

Malcolm (and his subcontractors) helped us replace a leaky, mouldy asbestos roof and replace it with a new, water tight one. Ours was a tricky job all round but they queued really hard, keeping us informed at every stage and changing approaches when needed sensibly, practically and at no extra cost to us. The job took longer than expected - due to complications our end - but we are delighted with the work and Malcolm's flexibility in fixing the unexpected issues. I would not hesitate to use Malcolm again.

Consummate Craftsmen

Malcolm and his son Paul are consummate craftsmen who take pride in their work, regardless of the size of the undertaking: large and small jobs get the same attention to detail and are completed to perfection. Having sought their services before (porch roof rebuilt and conservatory roof replaced), I had no hesitation in contacting them again to deal with a guttering issue and the fitting of an extractor fan that exits directly through bathroom ceiling, through loft and roof. They also built a new frame for my garage entrance and spent time patiently readjusting an ancient roll-up door, when they could have simply taken the easier option of advising me to buy a new one. They are punctual, reliable and tidy. They work diligently and inconspicuously (i.e. no music or loud, shouted conversations). In all, a pleasure to do business with.

Velux window fitting

We have used Able roofing on two occasions, one to fit a new Velux window and at a later date to fix a leak on a different part of the roof. Both Malcolm and Paul did an excellent job - very tidy and very pleasant to deal with. And at a reasonable cost. I would thoroughly recommend them and would use them again without hesitation.

Superb work by absolute professionals

This is the second time we have had work done by Malcolm and Paul, and their standard is first class. They replaced all our gutters, fascias, and soffits, including replacing rotten timber where necessary. They also replaced our half of a part-glazed roof over the shared side passageway, which necessitated replacing rotten timber and felt roofing, and repairing a leak around the downpipe. Their work was thorough, neat, and precise, with great attention to detail. Always cheerful, they arrived promptly each day, worked quietly and conscientiously, with only a short break for lunch, and cleared away any rubbish and waste material at the end of each day. We would have no hesitation in recommending Able Felt Roofing Ltd.

Superb Velux Fitting

Malcolm and son have done a wonderful job in relation to the price and fitting of a replacement Velux window. It was not easy due to the logistics, but we are delighted with the quality and finish - it has transformed the loft space. I not only want to praise their can-do attitude and adaptability, but also their professionalism. They work to a high standard, including taking care to protect your property and clean up after themselves. You don't have to ask for protective sheets or consideration of flooring, etc. It is all part of their intelligent approach. I would thoroughly recommend them.

Rehung and cleared guttering

This is the 3rd time I’ve used this company. Quoted my job on Saturday and completed my work yesterday. I needed my my fairly new (under 3 years guttering rehung after a very expensive but what turned out to be a poorly executed job done by a local window and home improvement company which then went into liquidation by changing its name and directors. Malcolm came to see me and we discussed the issues with the original installation as well as other roofing issues I was having. Made arrangements to come, took down and the rehung my ‘new’ guttering so that the rain wasn't falling towards my bay Windows soaking my walls. Cleared all my gutters and fitted devices to prevent blockages in down pipes around the property. Even adding a few extra parts where he discovered shortcuts in my original installation. Highly recommend company. No hesitation is recommending his work to others.

Professional and reliable

I had been let down by several tradesmen in an attempt to have garden shed felt roofing replaced. I made contact with Malcolm who came across as honest & professional from the beginning. He gave me a quick and reasonably priced quote over the phone . Paul arrived to complete the work he was extremely polite and professional. He was happy to cut back overhanging trees obstructing the shed without hesitation. Once the work was complete he cleaned up and left the garden neat and tidy . Highly recommend Malcolm and Paul and will I will certainly be recommending them to friends and family in the future.

Garage roof replacement

Able roofing were recommended to me by my neighbour that had had their identical garage roof replaced by Malcolm and his son, Paul, about 6 years ago. I could see that the workmanship was of a high standard. Malcolm's knowledge and expertise was evident from the point of first survey. We needed an asbestos roof removed and disposed of legally, before a replacement modern roof was installed. Malcolm took care of arranging the removal and disposal of the asbestos by a recognised business and when the work was done, we were provided with the necessary disposal certificates. Malcolm explained the work that was necessary and why, before providing a competitive quote. Once a date was set the work was completed methodically and to a high standard. Malcolm answered any questions I had without hesitation and also explained what work was being carried out and why, throughout the job. We had several purlins removed and replaced, brick work corrected and modern insulated roofing installed. I'd thoroughly recommend Able roofing.

Friendly Professional roofers

I had a leak on one of my conservatory windows which leaked occasionally and so was difficult to see and assess where the leak was coming from. Paul and Malcolm checked it out and found the problem . They took photos , showed me where the problem lay and booked a date for the work . They were knowledgable, professional , experienced and so pleasant to deal with and reasonably priced. Arrived at agreed time. On completion of work I asked Paul if he could hang the blind inside as it was difficult to do. He did this without hesitation. Very helpful advise and pleasing work

I sought Malcolm's advice regarding a leak. I am very, very pleased with the work that he and his son Paul completed. They took the existing cladding off, making good various areas and all the additional work needed on the side wall, which couldn't of be known until the cladding come off. I am very satisfied with their work, especially with the attention to detail. It all looks great and old markings have been thoroughly cleaned of the cladding so well it looks like new and the membrane under the cladding all renewed. I am confident the cladding is not a cause of leakage and all is sealed.

Excellent Work

Some 14 years ago we called upon Able Roofing as several traders had failed to find the problem of a leaking roof. Malcolm came, went up to inspect, took pictures, and said he could “fix the leak” but he “needed to fix the roof”. The work was very successfully carried out. Since that time Malcolm and his son Paul have come for any repairs to the roof, but have also replaced 3 garden roof buildings with metal sheets, again successfully. They will always give cheerful advice on any other aspects of work needed, which has been the case with the garden sheds. The advice is based on solid knowledge and expertise from their years of roofing work, and is very welcome. Never forgotten that time when he “needed to fix the roof”. This is a pleasant, trustworthy company, and their trade mark is well deserved.
