Highlights

"Allied Builders rectified a leak in our chimney which had been ongoing for about 3 years. Previous attempts by a number of tradespeople had failed to find a lasting solution. Allied Builders recommended and 'root and branch' re-dressing of the chimney, the pointing, the flashing, soakers, felting and flaunching together with some new slates. The work took a week. Since then we have had some prolonged bouts of heavy rain and no sign of water coming into the loft. I am pretty confident they've solved it. It was a 'Rolls Royce' solution and correspondingly expensive, but I think they were correct to advise this course of action as opposed to trying another 'patch-up'. I found them polite, good at doing what they said, when they said, very pleasant to have around the place whilst working and both competent and professional in their approach. They were also very tidy. The only slight downsides: we had scaffolding up for about 7 weeks - including over the Christmas period - when it was only needed for one, but Allied explained they were in the hands of the scaffolder on this."

"We had a problem with rainwater coming into the house after heavy rain this autumn. We asked friends in our area for recommendations as to reputable roofers and as a result contacted Allied Builders. They had a lot of work on at the time, but even so came out quickly to assess the situation and outlined the work that probably needed to be done. They made it clear that until an area of tile could be opened up for a thorough investigation any estimate of costs for the work would be within a broad range. Scaffolding was organised very rapidly, and the roofers were then able to carry out a thorough investigation before making a temporary repair to tide us over. At this point they were on a seven day week dealing with roof leaks across half of the county, but remained professional and well organised when on site here with us. The roof is a complex structure, dating from the late 1880s, with two extensions despite the modest cottage size. The roofing team really knew what they were doing and inspired our confidence every step of the way. Once the main repair was completed they also overhauled other places where tiles had slipped and cleared out all the valleys. The total cost came out within their upper estimate."

"Allied Builders were highly recommended to us by a family member who had previously had some work done by them. My elderly mother, who lives alone, needed some work done on her property following a significant leak. We initially dealt with Joe Senior, who visited the property and gave us a full explanation of what he thought the problem was, and how it could be rectified. He also gave an indication of the expected cost of this work. Following this, we received confirmation of this in an email, along with the assurance of their work being guaranteed for 10 years. We were happy to ask Allied Builders to carry out the work. Despite being busy, they managed to fit in the work before the winter, to try to minimise any further issues for my mother. Throughout the entirety of the work, we were kept informed of the progress, and both Joe and his son (also Joe!) were extremely keen to ensure that my mother was comfortable inside the house and not unduly affected by the fact that a major job was being done to the outside rear of the property. We were very pleased with the thoroughness and standard of work that was carried out, and with the care and consideration that they showed to my mother. Their kindness and thoughtfulness made the whole process as stress free for her as it could have been. My mother has just had some more work carried out by Allied Builders. She felt confident with the work that they had done previously, and felt comfortable with them being at her property. Again, we are very happy with the standard of their work, and with the care that was taken to explain what they had done, including going over and above what was expected. They were also keen to ensure that my mother was safe, due to the current Covid restrictions, and took proper precautions to minimise any risk. I would have no hesitation in recommending Allied Builders both for the high standard of their work, and for their customer care."

Joe and the team completed a full roof repair, bedroom renovation, new ceiling including insulation and electrics, new floor and plastering. Couldn?t be more pleased with the end result, really friendly hard working lads. Left the house tidy with no issues whatsoever, a personal check- back from the boss to ensure I was happy with the outcome. A lot of experience and knowledge and outstanding customer service!

We used them to repair the gable end mortar under the tiles, seal around garage door frame, put extra gutter supports in and stop leaks, and seal bolts for Juliette balcony to stop leaks. In the summer. Then the came back and installed bifold doors. Widened step outside them, added oak trim inside and made good the walls and paintwork in the lounge. All this was finished early January after waiting for the bifold doors which were delayed due to Co I?d 19.

We had the chimney rebuilt, ridge tiles and guttering replaced. We found them to be very professional, efficient, they turned up when they said they would and they did an excellent job. They take pride in their work and we would certainly use them again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to other people.

Had a new roof , asked Allied Building to look at my roof as I believed there maybe a potential problem . They came promptly to survey my roof , we discussed the issues with my roof. I was advised the ridge tiles would need re-bedding , there were a number of cracked tiles and water damage from a previous shoddy repair by a roofing company some years ago causing roof battens to rot. Allied builders provided picture evidence of the issues with the roof along with an example of the rotting battens and brittle felt. Allied builders discussed the issues with me and the following day sent a quote detailing the works needed along with detailed costs. I subsequently telephoned to ask the cost of a new roof as the roof was nearly 50 years old. Which I decided to proceed with. Allied Builders did a great job. We?re very efficient ,professional & courteous, kept me informed and did the work on the agreed start day and finished in the time scale agreed. Would not hesitate to recommend this company. So much so at least 3 other properties have had either new roofs or roof repairs in the same road where I live. Excellent company.

Allied Builders, aka Joe Snr & Joe Jnr, repaired our 4 dormers, replaced the facias & soffits to both house and garage, repaired the roof tiles, removed the moss growth, repointed the chimneys and checked fixtures. They answered both our initial call & came out to survey the job, promptly & professionally. They provided a written quote. They did what they said they would for the price quoted & started well ahead of the initial proposed schedule. They were reliable, honest, experienced, professional, competent & friendly. The 'before & after' was quite a transformation. It was a pleasure to work with Joe & Joe and their team. They work by good old fashioned principles/standards and understand customer service. They cleared up well when the work was finished and have even solved the problem of tramping builders boots over your nice clean floors by bringing along their own stand-out bright pink port-a-loo..... very thoughtful :-) Would we highly recommend Allied Builders.
