Grosvenor Builders

We hired Grosvenor Builders to renovate our kitchen. This included structural work (knocking down an internal supporting wall, inserting steel beams, knocking down and rebuilding a stud wall) as well as laying new flooring with underfloor heating, assembling kitchen cabinets, new cupboard doors and new internal doors, electrical and plumbing work and painting. From quoting for the work to finishing the job, Fred and his team were extremely efficient, trustworthy and reliable. Fred project managed the whole process and kept us informed at all stages of the renovation. His team were courteous, tidy and hard working. If they thought something wasn't going to look right they informed us and talked through options. They always listened to our wants and did their best to accommodate us at all times, whilst completing the work to a very high standard. We have no hesitation in recommending Grosvenor Builders to anyone.

Fred and this team did a great job with my bathroom refit including useful advice about the best products to buy to make the most of the space. The guys were punctual, friendly and professional and completed the work to an excellent standard. I’m really pleased with the finished bathroom. The team also completed a number of other small jobs to the same great standard.

I am a returning customer of this firm. Dan and James, with the some additional help, have completed a complete refurbishment of my kitchen, bathroom, and two bedrooms. The work was completed within the time frame to an extremely high standard. They arrived on time each day, where polite and considerate considering we were living in the property whilst the work was undertaken. This has been phase one of the refurbishment, phase two, the upstairs to be undertaken within the next few months.

There are four stages of getting major building works pre-planning, planning, the actual works and post-completion touches. We chose Grosvenor Builders and during each stage of the process we were guided through all aspects which included advice on optimisation budget, quality and comfort. We met with many prospective builders but finally decided to go with Grosvenor, despite a waiting time of over a year (which in itself was an indicator of quality). During the preplanning stages Fred was the only person who had a true ‘consultative approach’ and took detailed notes on what we wanted and possibilities based on our design. After we decided to go with Grovenor, we were constantly in touch with Fred who guided us on timings, helped with moving our stuff and set up the temporary kitchen. During the build stage, when actual works were taking place Dan and James were the best we could have asked for as they always had time to discuss and suggested options (we ended up getting an extra study room) – they actually became part of our family and now that they have left we actually miss have them around (they have an open invitation for lunch / dinner whenever they are working in the neighbourhood). Finally, post completion (and settlement) Fred has proactively been in touch for some ‘touches’ and optimisations which one comes across when newly constructed area is brought into use. We wholeheartedly recommend Grosvenor Builders and welcome newest members of our holiday card list.

Grosvenor Builders completely refurbished the kitchen while I continued to live in the property. Daniel and James were punctual, tidy workers. They are very personable and a pleasure to work with. Their attention to detail was impressive and reassuring. The time estimate for the job was accurate as was the initial quote. When, for reasons beyond their and my control, the cost increased I was notified in good time. I recommend this company without reservation.

Worked with Grosvenor Builders and Howdens to design the new kitchen. Once agreed Grosvenor undertook full liaison with Howdens. Grosvenor undertook the complete removal of the old kitchen, re plaster, new electrics and altered plumbing, decorating and fitting of new kitchen and all appliances. Old kitchen, appliances etc all removed and taken away. The team were efficient and professional. Tided up every night before leaving. Would highly recommend Grosvenor such works.

Grosvenor Builders first contract with us (bathroom refurbishment) was c.12 years ago and they have since built our side extension, created a new kitchen diner here, refurbished relative's kitchens, bathrooms and garage conversions - all to the same very high standard. They have just successfully completed a whole apartment refurbishment ( inc kitchen and bathrooms) for our nephew. The work was carried out the great care and attention by Dan and his sidekick James -who seem to improve with age! We knew we had to wait nearly a year for a start date ( which speaks volumes for Grosvenors well deserved reputation) but as ever it was worth the wait. It is very comforting to have Fred Dan and James etc working for us and you will too .
