Gerry replaced the canopy outside our back door with a new larger one, designed and built by himself. He carried out the work on the planned schedule despite the weather not being the greatest for outside work (returning promptly the following week to finish off when the final trim was delivered). He liaised helpfully with our electrician about the outside light. This is the second time we have used Gerry. He is very pleasant to deal with, makes useful suggestions, and delivers a great product. We recommend him highly.

Gerry Heron completely refurbished our two bathrooms and the cloakroom, including demolition of some 'false' bulkheads in the en-suite and an old airing cupboard (plus blocking up the cupboard door on the landing) to make both bathrooms bigger. The work was completed in a month, as scheduled, and the quality of workmanship was excellent, including the work Gerry subcontracted to a plasterer and a tiler. Gerry did everything else. We couldn't be happier with the end result and Gerry was very flexible when it came to working around our commitments and some other work we were having done at the same time. I strongly recommend Gerry for bathroom refurbishments and he is currently laying a new 'floating' vinyl tile floor for us in the hall, as well as the cloakroom. We also plan to use him to replace some internal doors in the near future. The only very minor criticism I have is that Gerry tends to drive projects forward at pace (which is good!!) but just make sure you clearly communicate exactly what you want and where you want small things like towel rails and other minor design details! Finally, and importantly, Heron Carpentry represents excellent value for money without the overheads of larger contractors.

Gerry and George did a fantastic job installing new fire doors and building a partition in a hallway. The partition was a bespoke piece of work and Gerry did a fine job creating an aesthetic which suited the existing hallway. I would highly recommend Heron carpentry. Gerry was very easy to deal with from start to finish and the job was reasonably priced. 5 stars all round.

Gerry did a fantastic job fitting our kitchen. From his first visit to provide the quote he understood what we were trying to achieve in terms of finish and cost and made suggestions accordingly. He worked with Howdens, who supplied the kitchen, to make sure everything was in order and delivered on schedule. He started the work on time and finished both ahead of schedule and on budget. He was incredibly easy to deal with throughout, including coordinating other tradespeople. Friends commented on how relaxed we were despite the building work which was largely down to Gerry! I would very happily work with him again and would highly recommend him.

Gerry did excellent work for our major kitchen refurbishment. We wished to renovate our kitchen which has 35 year old tailor-made maple wood cupboards. This involved retaining and revarnishing many cupboards while replacing others. Gerry undertook the stripping out, fitting of new sinks and taps, new radiator, new cupboards and organised the wall tiling above the worktops. He did complex work very skilfully, reducing a wooden “peninsula” bar by a metre, repositioning a cupboard under it, and reusing “tongued and grooved” wooden endpieces to keep the look of the original kitchen. He organised his work efficiently around other tradesmen (decorators, flooring company, electrician). Gerry is very professional and communicative and always ready to offer helpful suggestions. This is the third time we have used Heron Carpentry and recommend them highly

Gerry provided a very high quality, professional service throughout his time with us. He was commissioned to build a storage unit and shelves which span the length of our living room, as well as a fire place and chimney feature which house our TV. The job was technically challenging and required a fair amount of problem solving. Gerry successfully delivered both pieces of carpentry work to a very high standard and on time. He clearly understands cabinetry making extremely well. Gerry was easy to work with, he communicated well and co-ordinated the plasterer and decorator we needed himself. I would thoroughly recommend Gerry, and Heron Carpentry.

Gerry has done two jobs for us - both completed above our expectations. The first job was renovating a section of waney wooden cladding on the front of our house which had rotted over time. Gerry sourced and fitted the replacement cladding which now blends in perfectly with the original cladding. Gerry also designed and fitted a new corner walk-in corner pantry cupboard which looks as though it was always a part of our existing shaker style kitchen. Gerry is friendly, tidy, punctual and works hard to get things done in the time he has planned. Gerry is clearly an expert carpenter and I highly recommend him.

Gerry was a pleasure to work with. We needed a bespoke cupboard fitted to hide our boiler and he came over to assess what we wanted and gave great advice. He was communicative, helpful, efficient and produced great work. I wouldn't hesitate to book him again for another carpentry job.
