Quickly understood my system
Another plumber (Monster) had installed a radiator last autumn but were unable to get it to heat up. They had quoted me about a grand to try and fix the system, the plumber from Plumbox took about ten minutes to work out that the valve out of the pump was closed and so the boiler was disconnected from the radiators (a backup immersion heater was providing some heat to some of the radiators, confusingly). He opened that and adjusted a couple of other valves and now all of the radiators heat up. He also explained what he had done very clearly. Very pleased.

Boiler service and revisit to fix leak
Plumbox have serviced my boiler for the last 2 years. Good communication and engineer friendly and on time. We had the boiler serviced in June but didn’t use as we have solar panels to heat the water. Turned the heating on late September but unfortunately a puddle developed under the boiler and had to contact Plumbox to rectify which they did very promptly. Kai who fixed the leak very friendly and explained what the issue was. I think changes in the office delayed the sending out of the invoice for the service and the incorrect charge for the service. After advising Plumbox of the leak and that I hadn’t paid the invoice and hadn’t received a reply to my email this quickly addressed by Michael. Not sure if I will receive an invoice for repairing the leak, should this have been found when he turned the boiler on after the service? I would 100% recommend Plumbox because in my opinion they are a customer friendly company and keep to the timeframe for customer visits. I am hoping to refresh an en-suite in 2026 and will give them the opportunity to quote for the work.

Replacement of loft copper piping and a shower
We found Plumbox via Which trusted traders and they lived up to their excellent reviews. We were impressed with their friendly and practical service throughout, from the efficient initial quotation process to the helpful return visits later to tweak the shower temperature settings. Michael and the team were very thoughtful and accommodating, including adding another small job to the schedule at short notice and earlier helping with plumbing in a new dishwasher. We were very happy with all the work done.

Shower replacement, new wall panels, new extractor fan
Our shower room upgrade involved replacing the shower enclosure with a neater frameless model, a low-profile tray, and fitting wall panels instead of tiles to facilitate cleaning. The old wall mounted extractor fan was replaced with an in-line model in the loft. The work was done to the agreed schedule and budget, taking 3 days as planned. Michael was on site all the time working with an apprentice. We chose the panels and fittings we wanted at their suggested supplier (Beggs & Partners) located near us. Our final choices were different to the items in the quote but Plumbox did not charge more for materials. They caught our eye initially because of their Which? Trusted Trader accreditation and other positive reviews. They arrived on-time for the initial visit, gave a competitive quote, and responded quickly by email to a couple of questions. Communications were always easy by phone and email, and were responded to promptly. We were impressed by the care they took of our home (protective filmon stair carpet, frequent vacuuming of mess, no blaring builder's radio. They were polite and friendly throughout and obviously enjoy doing a quality job. They answered all our questions and were keen to explain what they were doing and why. This job involved some removal of some of the wall tiles without disturbing the rest. Michael didn't damage anything and was able to fit the panels neatly into the existing tilework. We are very happy with the result and will use them again!

En-suite refurbishment
We wanted to have our en-suite bathroom completely refurbished with a proper shower to replace the bath. We were recommended to use Plumbox by a friend. From the start they were helpful and courteous, making sensible design suggestions to achieve what we wanted. The fixed price was well within our budget and a start date was agreed. Communication was excellent at all times. The standard of cleanliness and workmanship outstanding. The job took 1 day longer than estimated due to a delay in arrival of a part - not the fault of Plumbox, who always kept us really well informed. We had a few problems at commissioning with low water pressure, but Plumbox analysed the problem, and made some changes without any fuss, and it all works perfectly. Fully recommend them in all respects.

Thorough, methodical and as quick as possible.
I had to represent the owner of the rented property, occupied by a family with young children. Plumbox were able to get to the property as soon as there was a slot available, diagnose the parts of the boiler that were not functioning and give an estimate fairly quickly. After consulting with the owner, I was able to place an order for repair that was carried out with the first available slot for an engineer. During repairs, the engineer found that another part was not allowing the boiler to function. The part was ordered on the same day and the works were carried out on the same afternoon. I am pleased that the family with young children are now able to live comfortably with a functional boiler for heating and hot water.

Friendly, efficient gas boiler installation
We needed to have a new central heating gas boiler installed due to the complete breakdown of our previous one. We selected Plumbox based on three key criteria: we wanted a supplier who was accredited for the boilers we were considering, preferably local as we believe in supporting local businesses and one that had good trusted reviews. Plumbox were contacted and came to see us promptly to look at our system and discuss our needs. This was done and a quote provided soon afterwards, along with prospective start date and completion times. For comparison purposes we did get other quotes but having considered them all we decided to proceed with Plumbox. We admit that the fact they could complete the installation without delay helped. An installation date and start time of 08.00 was agreed. It was good to see that the team arrived exactly on time and proceeded with the installation efficiently, cleanly and without delay. All went well, the friendly team showing great respect for our home and answering questions regarding the installation as they proceeded. By mid-afternoon the new boiler was installed and commissioned with the warm water proceeding to keep us warm again. Instructions on using the new boiler were given and a follow up visit arranged to hand over paper work relevant to the installation and to answer any questions. Overall we were completely satisfied and can wholeheartedly recommend Plumbox.

Excellent service!
We were having problems with our boiler which was a worry so soon before Christmas. Michael got someone round to us very quickly. He identified the problem and gave us our options, explaining them very clearly. Within a few days they replaced our boiler. The whole team are friendly, efficient and very helpful.
