Carl takes time to explain the work needed and liaised with all people involved. He was very pleasant to have around and we would have no hesitation in recommending him.”
“Carl explained very well what materials were needed for the pointing work. We also had a problem with collapsing bricks above the bedroom window for some time Carl checked it all out thoroughly and came up with a solution and was able to fix it with steel lintels. He is an excellent and neat worker arrived on time and also cleaned up each day. Carl went above and beyond by painting the sills and sorting out a birds next too. I would definitely recommend Carl and he will be the first port of call for any future work.”
“Carl is a very reliable and trustworthy builder with excellent skills in all the building works from brick works, roofing to bathroom fitting. Over the last 5 years he and his team have carried many works on our 2 properties and there was no problems following his works at all, all the works were done to high quality. The prices are reasonable and he also offers the best solutions to our building issues that we had. He has just done another great work on our bathroom that we have had problems for years. Would highly recommend him.”

We asked Carl to ventilate the house better as we were getting mould. Carl then came out twice to fix a leak on the roof when not booked in. He removed the tiles, replaced the felt and the lead, then put it all back together. He then came back later to carry out the contracted work of fixing the damage the leak had caused inside the house, adding insulation to 2 bedrooms and putting up new ceilings which he then plastered. He gave use advice on how to keep the house better ventilated and in the end we didn’t need vents in the soffits as the mould didn’t return. Happy that my children are not breathing in mould any more and the house is dry. Nice guy, friendly and honest. Recommend.
I needed a section of old garden wall dismantling and rebuilt to allow a tree to be removed. Carl arrived when he said he would and did what he said he would. He was knowledgeable about maintaining older stone with the use of lime mortar and left a nice brushed finish. For the rebuilding, Carl worked right through the 23rd and 24th December, ensuring the wall was built and garden secure for the Christmas period. Carl appears to be a solutions man, rather than a problems man. The wall is about 50 metres from any power, and further from water. Rather than stress about access to this, he just drove his van round to mix batches of mortar where it was convenient, and drove them back to the wall. Overall a very positive experience and I'll be coming to Carl in the future to discuss repointing of the house.
Carl and his team have done a few jobs for us now, mainly fixing a leaking bath and the subsequent damage it left to the kitchen ceiling. He’s always really friendly and punctual and no job is too big or small for him. We have him booked in to complete several other jobs in our house and we couldn’t be happier to have found a tradesman we can trust!
