"This is a highly professional company from the get go. The company gave a thorough investigation into our problem and explained clearly the work needed to be done. A price was agreed and work was completed in 3 days. All workers were very respectful of our property, polite and very clean. They spent over an hour cleaning up once the job was completed and made sure everything was to our satisfaction before they left. Would highly recommend this company."

Took care of all associated issues, such as removal and reconnection of a radiator, and was very kind and helpful throughout. The work was very fairly priced, and all is guaranteed for 15 years. The team were all very professional and friendly, everywhere was left clean and tidy. A family run local business who clearly care about their customers and have built up a good reputation over the years. Excellent service, I would recommend to anyone."

Damp and timber work isn't licensed in the UK, and "rising damp" is often over-diagnosed - so a real qualification matters. Property Care Association members hold recognised damp-surveying qualifications (CSRT/CSSW), follow a code of ethics and must have traded at least three years. Check they're a PCA member before you accept a damp-treatment quote.
Check the PCA registerGet an INDEPENDENT damp survey — not a free one from the firm that wants to sell you the treatment. A free survey has every incentive to diagnose expensive 'rising damp', when the problem is often condensation, a leak, or high ground level that needs no chemical injection.
Insist they identify and fix the underlying CAUSE — a leak, blocked airbricks, poor ventilation, failed pointing — before agreeing to an injected damp-proof course, and ask them to explain why simpler fixes won't work.
Get the diagnosis and an itemised quote in writing, and be wary of pressure to sign on the spot for a long 'guarantee' that is only worth anything while that firm is still trading.
